Question: why do a lot of people call themselves “normal?”
When you look think about it, what is normal? From my understanding being normal is “conforming with, constituting a norm, standard level, type or social norm, but not abnormal,” right? But when they say conform, what are you conforming too? Is it what the government tells you to conform too? Their level of conformity, their ideol
ogy of normal or just some random thought of what you consider normal? Think about it, you have to conform to a norm according to “them” which means “a standard or model or pattern regarded as typical.”But do you really want to be some typical “norm” just walking amongst the earth? Or do you
want to walk this earth with some purpose, meaning or some pep in your step. Unfortunately, no matter how bad you want to be normal, I doubt anyone is normal. If you take a look at their meaning for abnormal it is “not normal; not typical, usual, regular or conforming to a norm,” which is basically the opposite of what I told you. Now think, at one point a teenager or even an adult who was once a teenager has rebelled in their life. Adults rebel till this day and according to what “they” say being rebellious is resisting control or authority which means you’re not conforming to the norm. Another thought, style. A certain way you dress can be considered not normal as well which is also not conforming to the norm. Whatever is “NOT” normal is abnormal. But it’s up to you to decide that right? Or maybe the government, the people who has been controlling and oppressing the minority since anyone of us can remember. Why should everything be their choice? If I wasn’t mistaken no can control who you are but you right? No one has complete control over you unless you allow that. If someone was to come pointing a gun to your face and say give me your bag or wallet the choice is up to you if you are willing to allow them to have that. Hey, you may or may not die in the process but what I’m saying is that no one can make you do anything unless you allow it. Another thing to think about when reading this, if you’ve noticed I’ve used words like “they” and “them” and the question still stands. Who are they or them and why do they seem to hold all the authority? No matter how many answers I get the question still remains inside. But in my opinion this is something worth thinking about.
