Fear can be explained in two different ways in my opinion. I would say there’s that fear of insects or stage fright, but then there‘s that fear of failure. That psychological trepidation, or internal apprehension, and as it would all sound the same there’s a difference.
Many would see fear as something to overcome. As they all say “if you overcome your fears, it will make you stronger.” But what if I were to say that along with overcoming your fears, not overcoming them can make you strong as well? It would make you think and wonder… “How?” right?
I see it as this, there should be certain fears a person should over come. For example, your family likes to go camping
and along with that trip involves some hiking or mountain climbing. You’re terrified of heights and obviously that seems to be the only thing holding you back. That would be a fear I can say someone could overcome. Another example would be dogs. Dogs are not always vicious aggressive animals and this fear could also be something worth getting over. But something like what was mentioned previously like fear of failure, or fear of doing something against you morals should remain. If you think about it, that phobia is what makes you work harder to achieve what you want or to prevent a negative outcome. Fear can be a mental anxiety that just holds you back, but it can also help you in ways you couldn’t even imagine. Say you fear of losing your job, your whole objective is to do whatever possible to keep that from happening. You’re using that fear as a reminder of something you wouldn’t want to happen. Like looking at someone that’s not so great and using that to guide you in the right direction so you’re not a failure, a murderer, a molester, or an abuser. There’s not much of a difference but this is my difference. Everyone has their own opinion on whatever and this is what I think. Fear is not always a bad thing because when there is darkness, a light is always right around the corner to guide you. There’s good in everything. To see it means thinking outside of the box but that doesn’t mean you have to be fearless to do it.
